Management of sulphur for yield augmentation in rice (Oryza sativa) under rice fallow system

چکیده

Sulphur (S) is ranked as 4th most essential nutrient after nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium which plays a vital role in crop production. Its uses have declined recent years. S-deficiency soils of Odisha has increased from 36% during 2008–09 to 44% 2018–19. A field experiment was conducted at farmers’ Ankurda village, Goindia block Dhenkanal district, for two years (2018–19 2019–20) order study the effect different sources sulphur rice (Oryza sativa L.) (cv. Swarna Sub 1) under mid-central table land zone Odisha. The RBD with 10 treatments 3 replications. Four (SSP, calcium sulphate, elemental S0 navaratna (20-20-0-13) were used methods, viz. basal top dressing rainy (kharif) season. mixture source formulated (CaSO4 + SSP) @1:1 ratio applied only. Among applied, highest biomass yield recorded spilt method ES followed as: ESo>mixture source>navaratna>SSP>gypsum. Due S fertilization, by 16% over control (T1). Spilt application fertilizer exerted beneficial on attributing character, higher grain straw yield, uptake, use efficiency harvest index, quality parameters B:C Sub-1 comparison fertilizers

Emergence of Red Rice (Oryza sativa) Ecotypes Under Dry-Seeded Rice (Oryza sativa) Culture1

The effect of seeding depth on emergence of red rice (Oryza sativa) ecotypes from Arkansas (AR), Louisiana (LA), and Mississippi (MS) was determined under dry-seeded rice production in clay and silt loam soils in Arkansas. By 21 d after planting (DAP), all red rice ecotypes had emerged from planting depths of 1.3, 2.5, 5.0, and 7.5 cm in both clay and silt loam soils. In silt loam soil, seedlin...

Biochemical and Anatomical Changes and Yield Reduction in Rice (Oryza sativa L.) under Varied Salinity Regimes

Five Malaysian rice (Oryza sativa L.) varieties, MR33, MR52, MR211, MR219, and MR232, were tested in pot culture under different salinity regimes for biochemical response, physiological activity, and grain yield. Three different levels of salt stresses, namely, 4, 8, and 12 dS m(-1), were used in a randomized complete block design with four replications under glass house conditions. The results...

Oxygen dynamics in submerged rice (Oryza sativa).

Complete submergence of plants prevents direct O(2) and CO(2) exchange with air. Underwater photosynthesis can result in marked diurnal changes in O(2) supply to submerged plants. Dynamics in pO(2) had not been measured directly for submerged rice (Oryza sativa), but in an earlier study, radial O(2) loss from roots showed an initial peak following shoot illumination. O(2) dynamics in shoots and...

Correlation Studies in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Seventy genotypes of rice (Oryza sativa L.) were evaluated during Kharif 2012 to study the nature and extent of correlation among yield and yield attributing characters, days to 50 per cent flowering, days to maturity, number of effective tillers per plant, plant height, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, 1000-grain weight, grain yield per plant, kernel length, kernel breadth and L/B...

The Globulins of Rice, Oryza Sativa

Compared with the proteins of other cereals, those of rice haye been but little studied, notwithstanding the fact that rice constitutes one cf the most important sources of food for a large part of the world’s population. One reason for this is doubtless due to the unusual distribution of the classes of protein found in this seed. Unlike the proteins of other cereals, nearly all of the proteins...
